Birla Electricals was started in the year 1996 as the trading arm of group company Birla Yamaha. The Company entered into collaboration with D'longhi SPA to address the growing electrical home appliance market in India. The Company pioneered an Electric Oil Filled Room Heating system in India under the brand name Birla D'longhi. The product's innovative technology replaced the conventional heating rod.

Encouraged by the continued success of Oil Filled Heaters in North India, Birla Electricals entered the small appliances market in the year 2000 with the launch of the small appliances range of D'longhi under the Birla D'longhi brand. The small appliances of Birla D'longhi are premium quality products targeting the top 2% income group of the country. Birla Electricals entered the air cooler market in 2005.

To address the wide spectrum of the Indian market, 'Birla Lifestyle' a complete range of quality small appliances was launched in the year 2001.

Today, the Birla Lifestyle range consists of Mixer Grinders, JMG, Food Processors, Pop up Toasters, Sandwich Makers, Dry Irons, Steam Irons, Hand Blenders, Heaters, Air Coolers and much more.
