BIRLA PERUCCHINI was established in February 1997
as joint venture with FONDERIA PERUCCHINI SPA
ITALY, with an installed capacity of 3000 MT /
annum. Production commenced in may 1998. Capacity
has since been enhanced and is growing
continuously, based on a strong demand for its
products.
The foundry produces nodular, vermicular, gray,
white, Ni-resist, high alloy, bainitic and
austempered cast iron of international standards,
as applicable in major countries. The plant stands
on a 25,000 square meter plot, of which 8,000
square meters is under cover. Birla Perucchini has
manpower strength of 200 employees, including 80
technical personnel. Some of the key personnel
responsible for production, quality & maintenance
are trained at collaborator’s plant in Italy
The company has implemented Quality Management
Systems effectively and has been certified for ISO
9002-1994 AND QS 9000 (ISO9002-1994). It was
further accredited with TS 16949:2002 in August
2004 becoming eligible to be a tier one supplier
to the global automotive industry, including GM,
FORD, DAIMLER CHRYSLER.
The foreign collaborator is a leading name in
foundry technology in Europe. BPL has the most
modern infrastructure for producing Shell Moulded
Casting to customers specific tolerances and
quality in ductile and gray Iron. Certified to
TS-16949-2002 by BVQI. A unique pouring and
cooling line. Pouring carried out on moving
Moulds.
Expert inprocucing small, critical and intricate
parts. Which is well suited to shell process.
Excellent surface finish of products. Minimum
environmental pollution due to foundry layout and
design. An experienced pool of technocrats.
Strong customer base: Supply of intricate castings
to Tier 2 vendors of Auto component majors like
Bosch, Cummins, Cummins Turbo Technologies, Bajaj
Auto, Rane TRW. Company has a strong image with
its customers and other Indian Auto Component
Manufacturers.
Products
The plant stands on 25,000 sq.mtrs of which 8,000
sq.mtrs is under cover. The foundry produces S.G.
Iron (Nodular), C.G. Iron (Vernicular) and Grey
Iron Castings for all core sector industries in
general and Automobile industry in particular.Some
of the products manufactured at Birla Perucchini
Ltd. upto 5 kg weight per piece in the above cited
grades for export and inland requirements are
given below:Majority of the products manufactured
at Birla Perucchini Ltd. ranges from 50 grams to
10 kg weight per piece in the above cited grades
for export and inland requirements.BPL has the
expertise to manufacture Rocker Levers (intake and
exhaust), Bearing Housing for Turbochargers, End
Yoke, Sleeve Yoke, Flange yoke for tractor
applications. Brake wheel cylinders for hydraulic
brake system, variable Geometry bearing housing
for heavy duty turbochargers, pump bodies, crank
shafts, cam shafts, forks, cylinder body and many
more as per customer specific requirements in
graded Ductile, Vermicular and Grey Iron.The
foundry also carries out a full range of heat
treatments through reliable external sources,
including annealing, normalizing, hardening and
tempering, stress relieving, quench hardening etc.
The foundry also supplies castings with surface
treatments such as painting, galvanizing, chrome
plating and machining operations which are carried
out externally through reliable agencies.The
foundry is fully equipped with inspection and
testing facilities such as CE Analyser, nodularity
and matrix, Enoscope, UTM, Impact Testing
Equipments for incoming raw-material testing such
as resin coated sand, Prgiran, CRC & Scrap Ferro
alloys. BPL has installed contingency plans at
every place to have uninterrupted production and
sales to meet customer delivery requirements in
